Although the target user-group is assumed to be technically-savvy, I still wanted the app to be something they could pick up and use immediately. Therefore, the user-interface leans heavily on established conventions that the users will already be extremely familiar with; swiping list items for extra options, recognizable chat dialogue, Google-style maps, and location-information.
The key element of the user-experience was to create a frictionless feeling of gliding through the content. Smooth, logical page transitions gave the appearance of forward-motion, and once into an article page, subsequent content was perpetually pre-loaded so the user never has to take a backward step into the listings.
I focused on improving the navigation experience and the platform's usability to maximize the user experience.
